Encore School of Performing Arts opened its doors to its first students in May 2019. Encore is a thriving professional part-time theatre school in Sevenoaks Kent, Berkhamsted Hertfordshire & Chesham Buckinghamshire.

We offer a wide range of classes to our students allowing them the option to take graded examinations with the International Dance Teachers Association and LAMDA. We are a school dedicated to bringing out the best in every student in a safe and nurturing environment.

Encore currently runs regular classes at Sevenoaks Preparatory School, Berkhamsted Pre-Prep & Prep School and Heatherton Preparatory School. We are thrilled to use these beautiful premises as our main base for our weekly classes.

Mrs Heidi Bright - Principal
A.L.C.M.  A.I.D.T.A  N.C.F.E

Heidi graduated from her London based training in July 2003, graduating with a 2-year Musical Theatre Diploma (London College of Music) and training to advanced level with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in Tap, Ballet & Jazz. Heidi’s training covered all genres of the arts studying with highly accredited associations and industry professionals. Heidi completed her full-time training and secured her first professional job with P&O Cruises onboard MV Aurora and embarked on a world cruise at just 18 years old. Heidi’s other professional credits include; Annie (UK National Tour), The Greatest Show on Earth (Royal Albert Hall), The Brit Awards (Earls Court), The Demon Headmaster (Churchill Theatre Bromley), Pink Floyd-Brick in the wall (Orchard Theatre Dartford), The Secret (Feature Film for Anglia Television), The Buddy Holly Story (Curzon Theatre). Over the last 10 years Heidi travelled the world working for Royal Caribbean International as their Lead Production Singer/Vocal Captain. In 2011 Royal Caribbean secured the rights to Saturday Night fever the musical and Heidi originated the role of “Annette” in the award-winning Musical. Heidi has toured America, Asia, Russia, Europe, the Caribbean & Australia onboard the, Liberty of the Sea, Brilliance of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas and most recently the Mariner of the seas. Heidi holds Associate teaching status within the International Dance Teacher Association in Freestyle & Musical Theatre and is a fully qualified level 3 early years practitioner at Berkhamsted Pre-Prep School. Heidi established Encore School of Performing Arts in 2019 and strives to promote her passion for the arts through her teaching. Heidi would like to pass on her knowledge of the industry to all of the students at Encore School of Performing Arts.

Mr Lee Bright – Vice Principal
Drama/LAMDA

Lee trained at Mountview conservatoire for the performing arts, and has worked extensively around the world and in the West end, playing many leading roles in musicals including Grease , Fame , Jesus Christ superstar , South Pacific etc. He has also experience playing title roles in pantomimes and TV and Film. On top of this Lee has worked as a director and teacher for over a decade, teaching one to one and group lessons in acting and singing, directing after school clubs and theatre workshops for all ages . Lee is also a peri LAMDA Teacher at Berkhamsted senior schools.
Lee specialises in audition technique helping the next generation to transition into the industry.

Miss Kate Barnes
IDTA/ISTD Ballet & Street

Kate has a true passion for teaching the Performing Arts & young people! Kate has been happily teaching for the last 20 years for various prestigious theatre Schools, Primary & Secondary Schools. Kate trained at Italia Conti Academy London where she gained CDE in Ballet & Modern Dance as well as a National Diploma in Theatre Arts. Kate also gained all teaching grades with the .(ISTD) Kate is extremely excited to be joining the Encore School of Performing Arts team.

Miss Gracie Skye Egan
IDTA Tap & Drama


Gracie recently graduated from Bird College with a diploma in Musical Theatre and is currently attending Guildford School of Acting working towards her degree. Gracie started dancing at the age of 3, training in ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern. Whilst growing up, Gracie was apart of an award winning competition team, receiving many national and international titles and competing around the world. During this time Gracie also started an acting career appearing in a multitude of Commercials, Films and TV shows. Gracie is extremely excited to be apart of the Encore dance team and to continue her love for performing and dance through teaching.

Miss Leah Verity White 
Drama Teacher

Leah Verity White has worked professionally in television and theatre since the age of four. She trained full-time at the Sylvia Young Theatre School and Millennium Performing Arts, earning a Level 6 Trinity Diploma as part of her professional training. Leah has performed in West End shows including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Annie, and Billy Elliot. Alongside her performing career, she has spent over a decade sharing her passion for the arts as a performing arts teacher, working with students aged 2-18 at multiple theatre schools.

Leah loves bringing her passion, experience, and enthusiasm into the classroom, inspiring children to grow in confidence, creativity, and self-belief. She is dedicated to creating a fun, supportive environment where every child feels encouraged to express themselves and enjoy the magic of performing.

Miss Ruby Rowland
Performing Arts Assistant

Ruby has been dancing and performing from a young age and enjoys assisting during the Encore holiday camps/classes. Ruby has experience performing in professional shows and recently played the role of Miss Honey in Matilda and is continuing to develop her knowledge whilst training in the performing arts at collage. Ruby is a budding performer and super keen to share the passion she has for all things dramatic with the students at Encore.
Ruby is also studying to be an early years practitioner.

Miss Mia Mitchell 
Performing Arts Assistant 

Mia is currently studying Primary Education at Nottingham Trent University. Mia has had lots of experience working with children and recently completed a years placement at the prestigious Berkhamsted day nursery. Mia during this time also supported full time staff and Berkhamsteds thriving wrap around Care. Mia has a passion for the performing arts and studied Drama and complete her LAMDA drama examinations to Grade 6.
Mia is extremely pleased to be able to work during the holidays with Encore passing on her passion, dedication and love for child care.

Uniform

Students attending classes are required to wear the correct dance school uniform.

Please ensure all uniform is labelled with your child’s name.

Readiness for class

Pupils should aim to arrive five minutes before class ready to start in full Encore uniform, with correct footwear, without jewellery and with hair tied back.
