Encore School of Performing Arts Founder Heidi Rowland opened the doors to her theatre school in May, 2019. Encore is a thriving professional part-time theatre school based in the heart of Sevenoaks, Kent.

We offer a wide range of classes to our students, allowing them the option to take graded examinations through the International Dance Teachers Association. We are a school dedicated to bringing out the best in every student.

Encore currently runs regular classes at the wonderful Sevenoaks Preparatory School. We are extremely pleased to have use of their beautiful premises as our main base. The facilities include a large hall, medium hall and a music room for one to one classes. We are also able to use Sevenoaks state of the art performance hall for our in house productions.

Heidi Rowland- Principal

A.L.C.M. A.I.D.T.A

Heidi graduated from her London based training in July 2003, graduating with a 2-year Musical Theatre Diploma (London College of Music) and training to Advanced 1 level with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in Tap, Ballet & Jazz. Heidi’s training covered all genres of the arts studying with highly accredited associations and industry professionals. Heidi successfully completed her full-time training and secured her first professional job. Heidi signed a contract with P&O Cruises as a cast member onboard the MV Aurora and embarked on a world cruise at just 18 years old. Heidi’s other professional credits include; (Annie) UK National Tour, (The Greatest Show on Earth) London’s Royal Albert Hall, (The Brit Awards) London Earls Court, (The Demon Headmaster) Churchill Theatre Bromley, (Pink Floyd-Brick in the wall) Orchard Theatre, (The Secret) Feature Film for Anglia Television, (The Buddy Holly Story) Curzon Theatre.

Over the last 8 years Heidi’s has travelled the world working for Royal Caribbean International as their Lead Production Singer and Vocal Captain. This involved producing and performing in Royal Caribbean’s full-scale Broadway style productions. In 2011 when Royal Caribbean secured the rights to Saturday Night fever Heidi originated the role of “Annette” in the award-winning Musical. Heidi has toured America, Asia, Russia, Europe, the Caribbean & Australia onboard the, Liberty of the Sea, Brilliance of the Seas, Serenade of the Seas and most recently the Mariner of the seas.

Heidi has gained Associate teaching status within the IDTA (International Dance Teacher Association) in Freestyle & Musical Theatre. Heidi recently established Encore School of Performing Arts and Strives to promote her passion for the arts through her teaching. Heidi would like to pass on her knowledge of the industry to all of her student’s at Encore School of Performing Arts.

I have had the pleasure of working along side Miss Rowland as an industry coach. Her enthusiasm and passion for her craft is incomparable! I’ve witnessed students push their personal boundaries and produced incredibly detailed and beautifully polished work. Heidi is the first mentor I would recommend to any student looking to take up theatre!

I had the honor of working with Miss Rowland during a project performing a few years ago. The amount of support, love and energy Heidi offered to me as a friend and as a fellow coach was brilliant. Clare Perry (AIDTA)

Clare trained at the prestigious Performers College in London, where she graduated with a 3 year musical theatre diploma. After graduating Clare was very successful within the industry, touring the UK and America, as well as directing and choreographing many productions. During her career Clare gained numerous teaching qualifications through the International Dance Teachers Association( IDTA). Clare holds her associates in Tap, Ballet, Modern and Musical Theatre. Clare is a dedicated and passionate teacher who prepares students for IDTA examinations, as well as teaching non syllabus classes. Clare is thrilled to be part of the Encore School of Performing teaching faculty, and can’t wait to pass on her knowledge and experience to her students.

Miss Loxton- Dance Teacher

Rachel is an ex professional classical ballet dancer and started dancing at the age of 3, she gained a position at one of the most prestigious ballet schools in the world and graduated from The Royal Ballet School before progressing on to the English National Ballet School. Rachel gained Royal Academy of Dance qualifications and is undergoing her Imperial society of Teachers of Dancing qualifications. Rachel has travelled the world Performing and recently started her primary school teaching career in Vietnam. Rachel stayed there for two years working with schools teaching English language and performing arts. Rachel has performed in many events and performances for large audiences including the Royal family. Rachel is an experienced dance teacher who loves passing on her knowledge to her students. Rachel is thrilled to be part of the Encore team.

Rachel is such an aspiring dancer and she always pushed herself to her maximum potential at The Royal Ballet School. She possessed such potential and was a very strong and promising artist as well as being such a friendly, happy and confident student, motivating other around her during the exciting yet pressured time at White Lodge. We have held a friendship and I strongly feel any student that gets an opportunity to train with Rachel will be guaranteed to have the best possible training and mentor.
